Title: Probabilistic logic models for RNA bioinformatics
Abstract:
Central RNA bioinformatic tasks include RNA structure prediction (including 3D), phylogentic analysis of RNAs, structural alignment, genomewide screens for ncRNAs, analysis of structural effects of SNVs, RNA
sequencing data analysis, RNA-RNA interaction prediction, and inference of ncRNA function and location.
In this talk I will briefly give an overview of these activities as pertains to a recent project that involves functional annotation of interacting ncRNAs.
In the second part of the talk I present the probabilistic logic programming language and machine learning system PRISM with an emphasis on its use for fast prototyping of probabilistic sequence models and show a number of such models relevant for various tasks of RNA bioinformatics.
