As an external associate professor, I conduct research in genertics in relation to early differentiation and cancer. In am the head of the Danish Mole project.

I am also interested in medical education from the students start at the university to doctors specialized in clinical genetics struggle with “continuous education”.

I am a MD, PhD and specialist in clinical genetics.

The Danish Mole Project - Genetics in trophoblastic disease

A hydatidiform mole (HM) is an abnormal  conceptus, with a surplus of paternally interited genes. A HM cause a significant risk of  trophoblastic neoplasia.

We have shown that the risk of cancer is low after triploid HMs - and the international guidelines were changed.

Now we test if

  • zygosity and the proteome can predict the prognosis
  • the women can have personalized follow-up by using the genetic profile of the HM
